Egret and heron

Today we went on a short bus tour of the Least Tern nesting colony at the former Alameda Air Naval Station. This is the largest colony in Northern California and may be made into a wildlife refuge.

Unfortunately, none of my tern photos came out, but this egret and heron posed nicely, so I blipped them instead.
