Making dinner.
It's been awhile still I took my daily photo - it's 30+ degrees everyday now and the thought of walking around is exhausting, let alone actually doing it. Maybe I'll dare to take my camera to the poolside next weekend and get a blip of Azeri poolside fashion - caramal tans, sky high heels or wedges (preferably perspex), enormous sunglasses, Gucci and Armani bikinis, Dior scarves wrapped into turbans... Anyway, back to this blip. Tonight we are having poached chicken with star anise. I've cooked lamb with star anise before, but not chicken. The chicken is poached with coriander, ginger, a cinnamon stick, soy sauce and gin (instead of rice wine which I don't have) as well as star anise. The photo is of the dressing - sesame oil, red chilli, spring onion, light muscovado sugar, garlic and more soy sauce. To be eaten with basmati and green veg.
