Tree Bees & Blackberries
Blackberries are in full flower at the moment, their delicate white petals, swaying in the summer breeze, and today, I finally managed to capture a reasonable shot of the delightful Tree Bumblebee; Bombus hypnorum .
Her snowy white tipped bum, lustrious black hairy body and her gingery/brown haircut, stood out strikingly against the Blackberries white flower petals. Her pollen sacks laden with her dutiful work.
Find out more about the huge variety of pollen colours using the IBRA (International Bee Research Association's) Pollen Identification Chart, which lists which plants are flowering in which seasons and what colour the pollen will look like.
