Pob's World

...but which parts?!

Last day today and last trip on the Star Ferry, which, I admit brought a tear to my eye - I've really really loved it here.

Over to Hong Kong to go on the Escalator.
Yes - an escalator. It runs from the Central area, up the very steep streets of Hong Kong, with regular stops, all the way up to the Mid Level area of the island.

It's a strange experience, but without it, many areas of the island would be impossibly steep to reach. This is Elgin Street which is near the middle of the escalator and backs onto SoHo. My sister spotted this sign.

We stopped off at Western Market, Man Mo temple, Ginseng street, Cat street and Hollywood Road, before getting off in SoHo (South Hollywood) for lunch. We walked back down to Central (The escalator only goes uphill during the day), explored the waterfront, then headed back to Kowloon for the final time.
Packed up and showered we headed back to the airport, catching a final glimpse of the lights on the harbour as we went.

This really has been a perfect holiday, everyone should see Hong Kong at least once in their lifetime. It's one of the most friendly, vibrant, interesting & breathtaking cities in the world - and if you like shopping then you'd probably have an even better time than I had (if that's possible!)
