wood pigeon

We have been out for a walk this afternoon and this time I took my camera. I'm very glad I did. Found lots blippable and this is the last image I took. I couldn't believe my eyes, seeing this wood pigeon nestled in branches only a metre or so up above me on the side of the pavement on a reasonably busy street. He wasn't bothered about moving when I went in closer towards him, but I couldn't have moved any branches or leaves or I am sure he would have been off.
We have bell birds wake us in the mornings but haven't heard this fellow yet.
I intend to plant shrubs that will attract birds so hopefully some of these will spend some time with us.

By the way, yesterday's blip was cheese and tomato toasties (not pizza) and yes, with black pepper. Thanks for your comments
