milk weed flower

The air here is very humid after all the rains we have been having. I wanted to go for a little walk and was near a natural area not far from home. This is the flower of a Milk weed plant, this is the plant that caterpillar of the monarch butterfly needs to eat before it will cocoon. I belive the latin name is Ascelpias tuberosa, spelling may be wrong. the walk did not last too long, it was just uncomfortable to go very far.
