Traveling Lobster

We spent all day traveling from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Bogota, Colombia so it was difficult to find interesting photo subjects. I wanted to prove we were in Peru, if only in the airport, but all airports look mostly the same. Pictured here, on the moving sidewalk in the international concourse where we spent most of the day, is Balboa our traveling lobster. We have carried Balboa the lobster with us since a Spring Vacation trip three years ago.

Balboa started as a way to embarrass our then 16 year old daughter by having various people; food servers, car rental clerks, surf instructors, etc., hold Balboa for a photo or have him situated in a place unique to the area in which we are traveling. We have created quite a collection of Balboa photos through our travels and try to add more with each trip. The language barrier prevented a lot of Balboa photos this time, but this shot of Peru should make the collection.
