Sunflowers by Ken
Went in to the studio to paint today and there was another still life sitting on the table on Ken's side of the studio. I share my studio with another painter named Ann and with Ken who is a photographer who uses large format cameras and creates beautiful platinum prints. He mixes his own chemicals and does contact prints from the great old cameras he uses. Ken wasn't in the studio but I knew it was okay with him if I took some photos of his set up. We've had the discussion. He doesn't mind at all. His photos are all black and whites and mine are in color. Makes for an interesting comparison of our work using the same still life. Today he had these wonderful sunflowers in a great black vase. Couldn't resist.
I also worked on my latest painting. It's almost finished. I posted it on my fine art blog. I noticed a small change I want to make so it is not complete but it is achingly close. I also got ready to start a series of small paintings of Woodstock Farm. But those are the subject of a future blip.
