It's a Dawg's Life!
It's been a while since I produced an Archie blip so here he is...defending our home.
Now you and I might think he's just dozing in the sunny spot on the half-landing, but Archie assures me that from here he can see all that is important in his domain.
For instance, from this vantage point he can see into the dining room and out through the patio doors, so should our safety be threatened by the evil pigeon who resides in this vicinity Archie can launch himself at this dangerous enemy and see him right off over the back fence.
Also, from this same vantage point he can clearly hear any suspicious movements in the kitchen...such as biscuit tins being opened or plate-clearing operations...he can then either dive in to save me from imminent weight gain or recycle our left-overs, depending on the circumstances.
He can also guard the sitting room from this central point...you see he knows that Bob and I just hate a cold sofa and he sees it as his duty to warm it up for us should we leave the room for an extended period. We of course see it as our duty to rain threats and ultimatums down upon his fuzzy little head for such impertinence but he is magnanimous in his forgiveness each time this happens.
So you see...he really isn't idling away the evening in the summer sun, he's actually working like a dog.
Thank you so much to everyone who commented so kindly on my 100th blip. I will come back to all of you over the next few days :-)
