Town Fountain.

A hundred years ago there was a thriving local Market on this spot.
Photographs were taken of men in Bowler Hats and Toppers posing proudly. As this is an old Hatting Town they were once plentiful.

I remember how busy it was as a child in the Seventies.

Now, as bit by bit, the Superstore and the Retail Park kill local business and Community - we have a Fountain.

Across the road where we have our 'Wakes', when the fair comes to town, there is going to be a KFC. Wonder where the Wakes will go?
