Whitstable

What a gorgeous day to be by the sea! Fred and I cycled to the station, caught the train to Rochester and cycled down to Cuxton to visit Fred's aunt and his dad, who's visiting from inverness with the two Jack Russells. After lunch on the houseboat, we drove to Whitstable for ice-cream, seafood and some rockpooling. I found some woodlice-type creatures stuck to rocks under the water - I must find out what they are. I've never seen anything like it.

Towards the end of the day, we cycled back to Rochester from Cuxton with a bag full of lettuce grown on the houseboat for Omar. We were piped on our way as we cycled past various pubs full of raucus England fans blowing trumpet-like things and generally being noisy, and this is before the game had started. Once at Rochester, we practically had the train to London to ourselves! I must remember to cycle when the England games are on. Mind you, we encountered one aggressive driver on the way to the station, who was right up against our wheels - I think he must have been anxious to get home before the match started. We listened to the game on the radio. Well, Fred did and I got bored of it and read my book instead.
