Moody
Winter, spring, summer, and fall.
Light and shadow. Ripples and waves. Flat as a pancake or dimpled as sand. Clear as a pane of glass or murky with detritus and yellow-green pollen. Amorous with spawning season or turning over sleepily for the fall. Metallic as gunmetal or baby blue reflecting the sky. Ominous calm before the storm or lashing the shoreline angrily like a serpent. Always changing.
I love the lake in all its forms and textures, temperaments and emotions. Everyday it draws me in and surprises me with some completely new quirk of personality. It is like a living creature constantly shape shifting, moody and alive.
