COOKS ILLUSTRATED

As I poached eggs today, directed to me from the Cooks Illustrated May/June 97 edition (thank you Levacy family), Justin tried to explain to me the death of the Big XII Conference and why in the world UT would go with the Pac 10 and not the SEC (my new favorite) and what in the world is going to happen to BAYLOR???

So I made my first poached eggs (meeeeehhhh - not my best work) and I also made Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Rolls (another meeeehhhh) and finished tonight with Asparagus tips with a truffle Bernaise and soft boiled quail eggs. Finally a victory. It is hard because I am almost always trying to reduce recipes by 2/3rds so that we have an edible amount of leftovers and generally it ends up with the end product being a bit off. Such a bummer.

I am also having a motivation problem. Getting the house done and decorated and running. Help! Can someone come for a couple of weeks and get me on track?

A very merry birthday to Kenny. The other great love of my life. He is the man that I admire the most and if it was not for him I would have never known what I was looking for in Justin. They always say you marry like your Father. I am lucky to have had such an amazing "alternative" role model in a father. I love him more than he knows.
