NICOTINE

I have convinced myself that I need a macro lens -- almost. These nicotiana flowers are too small for the lens I've got but on the other hand, they are not the larger flat-petal variety I ordered in the first place. These are self-seeded and growing in the roses.

The two seed companies I use in the UK have an ever decreasing variety of seeds. This year I could not get acorn squash nor Thai basil. Two years ago when I wanted plain old flat-flowered nicotiana with a heavenly scent I couldn't get those, either, and ordered these instead. They smell of absolutely nothing.

I chased the black bumble bees again this morning but then, they started chasing me so I gave up for another day. And then, it is very windy. Am not happy with this pic but nature has it in for me today. Clouds are piling up at a rate of knots, blown in by the wind.
