Captain Seagull
I have always liked this small boat, anchored in the bay next to the Oak Bay Marina. It has been sitting derelict for awhile and every time I pass by it looks more and more weathered. I have experimented with photographing it under different light conditions, trying to find the best conditions to bring out the texture of the boat. Today as I was going by the marina I thought I would try again. While setting up to take the shot, a seagull landed on the railing of the boat and stood there proudly like he was captaining the ship! The shot was no longer about texture, but about the scene the seagull had created.
Full speed ahead Captain Seagull!
