Okay, so it's not the actual Nobel medal, but the replica initially given to the winners while their pure gold metal is temporarily stored in a vault in Sweden. Still, to be able to be that close to even a replica was an awe-inspiring moment for me. A Nobel Prize in Chemistry - my scientific heroes are Nobel Prize winners in many cases, or close calls that perhaps should have won. I can see now why some people love to go to certain museums and halls of fame: to be that close to something that rare and special is indeed a true priviledge.
