The Longest Day of the Year

"Occasionally in life there are those moments of unutterable fulfillment which cannot be completely explained by those symbols called words. Their meanings can only be articulated by the inaudible language of the heart."
~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today was the longest day of my year thus far. It involved traveling from EST to PST - we were in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, gaining an extra three hours. It's a beautiful area. We didn't venture far from the hotel once we got there as we were exhausted, having to catch a 6:30AM international flight and arriving in the midafternoon. We did, however, briefly journey from our hotel down to the shoreline in the early evening to catch the sunset.

The clouds wouldn't cooperate with my wanting to get a picture of the sunset over the Pacific - however, they did provide that amazing effect of making the sunlight visible in rays, so that's my blip for today.

A couple other pictures you might enjoy:

Went to the corner store to buy some food, as we had a kitchen in the hotel. The butter I bought was gigantic. Huge. Canadians: what's up with that?

Along the shoreline, a picture of an Inuksuk we ran across. I really adore them for some reason I can't completely explain.

Another that I'd love an explaination for from a Canadian: what's up with a tree on a skyscraper? I mean, it's cool and all, but how/why do you do it?
