Ex-crab
After a pretty miserable morning the weather looked a little better at lunch so took myself to the Dornoch Firth looking at the N & S slipways for the old Meikle Ferry. The ferry was in existence in 1809 as a plaque at the northern slipway is a memorial to almost 100 people who lost their lives when the ferry sank on the short crossing. Poking around by this slipway I came across a narrow belt of dead crabs all washed up to the same level in various stages of disarticulation. A little disconcerting as from the outside there's not much difference between a dead crab and a live one. There's a picture here to show the mise en scene.. Hope that's the right expression. Picture was taken unposed and I didn't arrange the pieces in any way.
