Saturday Job

This girl has a Saturday job working in a cafe. But despite her (probably) low paid situation, she had a bright and cheery disposition, was very helpful, and more importantly, when she served us a pot of tea for two, it came in a large china teapot, and there was enough tea for four good cups; and some left over. There was also white sugar....

...we stopped at a roadside place the other evening and ordered our usual pot of tea for two. It came in two pots. Each of them held a cup and a half. We were presented with sachets of sugar - one demerara, and one sweetner. Our enquiry concerning the whereabouts of the white sugar was met with shrugged shoulders and the explanation that they had run out. They just didn't get the idea that you have either no sugar, or white sugar in tea. Serves us right for using a restaurant (ha!) that is run by spotty youths who look like they were raised on pop and crisps.
We did order a meal as well as the tea, but I regard that as a separate exercise since there was a 40 minute gap between the arrival of one and the arrival of the other.
