"What?" I had pulled out an in-class-essay that
I had received an A- on. I couldn't help but laugh. "No,
It's about the Hamatic Myth."
"What?" She asked.
"The Hamatic Myth. Basically an idea that says
Every cultural advancement in Africa was made by
White people."
"Oh." She replied.
"A love note to Beowulf?"
"What can I say? You could pull anything out of that
Backpack." To this, I laughed again,
"Dear Hrothgar, you stud muffin..."
