Remember these?
Americans have cookies with their crisp exteriors and melt-in-the-mouth centres; Denmark has it's light and airy pastries and the British? I present to you The Iced Gem. They really are so peculiarly British. Tiny, hard and not very sweet biscuits with a little dollop of rock hard icing on the top. So wrong yet soooooooo right.
I'd forgotten all about these until I was looking for a little (not too naughty) treat for my son's lunch box. I had to sample a pack of course and spent a short time reliving my childhood :-)
My husband doesn't 'get' iced gems...That's ok because I don't 'get' red bean curd buns!
