Urban regeneration

Day 2 of the shoot and yet more locations in Durham. Stanley, where I got together one new years eve with my lovely lady, Consett which holds the record for the biggest mass redundancy in 1 day of 4,500 steel workers and 5,000 local business workers that supplied the steel works to name a couple.

One thing that has struck me these last 2 days is that local governments seem to think that the first steps to economic recovery is to build play parks. They all seem to have shiney modern park benches in the town centres.

Or is it just somewhere nice for people to sit and while away their days?
