Salmon Nets at Lunan Beach


We always know that spring is really here when these nets go up, they stay up until August 31 which is the end of the salmon season

These nets belong to my neighbour and he has some out by us too, in the "Olden Days" the salmonfishers would walk out, tightrope stylee, and haul the fish out by hand. These days they either use a boat and still haul in by hand, or on the beach they patrol along at lowtide with a tractor.
