Anemone virginiana
I have been spending quite a few of my working hours helping out in a native plants filled butterfly garden that is a project of both an elementary school's 2nd grade class and the Fish and Wildlife Service. In my first two weeks here, my work with the students transformed the garden from full of weeds and somewhat abandoned looking to something I would want to show off to the community. As some of the flowers begin to bloom, I cannot help but fill with excitement for what the summer and fall will bring this splendid little garden.
These Tall Thimbleweeds seem to be some of the hardier of the plants, as they refused to be overgrown and have expanded to fill their corner of the garden.
