Battle!

Our little break is drawing to a close, DQ and I went to Battle to visit the site of the battle of Hastings when the Normans invaded defeated the Anglo Saxon King Harold and took control of the English crown in 1066.

On the walk around the field we found a fantastic pond, there was a terrific noise which we thought were frogs or toads.

The building on here is a Tudor listed building there as been an inn on this site since the late 11th century to feed the visitors to the Battle Abbey which was built to commemorate the battle fought there.
