What can I say, it's a blooming long way to Scotland. Well it is from here anyway. Day two of our epic journey and after a brief stop at Fossil Grove in Glasgow to admire the 300 million year old fossilised tree stumps (thanks to Shine-A-Light) the kids decided the best use of the car was as a bed.

Wise move. We made it to Oban late afternoon, unmoulded ourselves from the car seats and had a good run around with a football in a field before settling into our new home for the week. Fortunately even the kids agreed that the beauty of our location was well worth the trip.

Though it says a lot that next time Carl has suggested flying.
