Going Home - Part 2

So the last blip saw us deplane at around midnight. For the next hour or so we hung around waiting to hear if they could fix the plane or find another one to use and in the end they announced the service to London was cancelled. At this point it meant all passengers queuing to get new bookings made.

So we queued.... and queued..... and queued.... and around 4.30 am we got to the front of a queue and got rebooked for later in the day (5pm) to fly to Chicago then onto London.

So we were dispatched with vouchers for food and a hotel room.

We promptly left the airport in the courtesy bus to the hotel (about 5 mins away) and got into bed absolutely shattered at nearly 6 am (Dallas time) and slept till 1pm.

After a shower and a coffee we headed back to the airport to check in again (hoping there would be no problems with our 4 bags). Through security again. And sat down to have some food courtesy of the airline.

Through this all the bear remained very calm and was happy sat half in my hand luggage watching the world go by!

All was well and the flight to Chicago left on time.... only for the Captain to tell us in-flight that due to poor weather we would arrive late. We only had 50 mins to make the connection in the first place and now we were down to 20 mins.

We wondered if we would see the inside of a Chicago hotel room too!

But we made up some time and landed 45 mins before our next flight. And promptly scarpered across the terminal and boarded the next flight. All the time wondering if our bags would make it!

We left on time and a movie about took me up to midnight again.

Part 3 to come..... will we make it home???
