Marché fermier

Farners' market at Mas Rolland (where I blipped the goats in April). A wonderful collection of food stalls and stalls selling a plate of cooked or cold food for lunch. It's usually fun to buy a plateful and sit in the shade eating, with a bottle of wine from one of the wine producers' stalls, but the weather was thundery today and we just managed to say hello to a few friends and go round all the stalls, buy flour, cheese, free range pork, chestnut flour and olive oil before it poured with rain and we dashed back to the car and came home through lightning and heavy rain. It will be good for the garden.

On the right is the stone-milled flour stall from Le Pouget, not far from here. We don't make bread very often because we have such a good boulangerie in the village, but it's nice to have some traditional bread flour for the occasions when the bread-making mood takes us.
