Azerbaijani salad.

We are in full summer now here in Azerbaijan - it's reaching 30+ degrees in Baku these days - and salad veg is at it's best. Here you have lettuce, dill, tarragon, coriander, purple basil, cucumbers and tomatoes. We had friends round for dinner this evening and we started and finished on the balcony - it's a little hot during the day, but perfect at night. What did we eat with this salad? We did raclette (French tradition of cooking at the table) with raclette cheese and beef marinated in a chilli, lime, soy sauce, orange juice & sugar dressing, also new potatoes, mushrooms, carrots, yogurt garlic dill dip and honey smoked ham. Dessert was orange drizzle cake and raspberry tiramisu where the sponge fingers are soaked in white wine and cassis rather than espresso and marsala. Had a lovely evening, and am planning to enjoy it all again tonight with the leftovers!
