Princess Fiona, Donkey, Puss in Boots and Shrek

These are the four "Shrek"-themed glasses I bought couple of weeks back from McDonald. McDonald has recalled all the 12 million sold glasses today after U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has discovered "Cadmium [Cd]" in the painted design.

Cadmium is a known Carcinogen that research shows also can cause 'bone softening' and 'severe kidney problems'.

Related to this event, the Associated Press reported in January that some items of children's jewelry sold at major national chains contained up to 91 percent of the metal. Federal regulators worry that kids could ingest cadmium by biting, sucking or even swallowing contaminated pendants and bracelets. It raises a basic question, Why a company targeting kid's market didn't do proper quality test & put millions of people @ risk.
