La Crisis II

It's 7 am and Maria is behind her counter in her traditional kiosk , set on a cambered corner of the Eixample area. She sells books, magazines, and notepads in addition to what you see on her shelves...also newspapers. The main headline today is that 1 in 3 young people between the ages of 16 and 29 in Spain have lost their job in the last three years; there are over 4 million unemployed (20%). Maria looks as if she is feeling the pinch too.
