The next day after arrival, I was fairly well rested had a good nights sleep.
the workshop I came to Colorado, Miksang contemplative photography was not starting till the next day (Friday) in the evening, so I had a lot of time on my own.
the main reasons for me coming here so early was to get use to the altitude and have some time on my own to explore. this was a very good decision on my part.
At this point there were no big crowds at the center, mostly only the staff, mainly young people who were Buddhists and were volunteering their time to help out the community. All of the meals were set in a communal eating area, cafeteria style.
I must say that the food for the whole time was fantastic, simple, healthy and abundant.
My first full day here was just exploring any where I wanted to go, no schedules, some meditation and a little bit of napping. I was very happy and so relaxed and content. I did not talk to many people, did not hang around with anyone but myself and that was great.
the workshop did not start yet, but I was just happy to be in this special place.
