Green Wave

Had a lovely gentle day today. Although it didn't start that way for J who was woken up with a barrage of party poppers and silly string (E quite rightly pointed out that 'dad would never forget this birthday') and left with a hearing impairment for the rest of the day.

Discovered E wore his pyjamas to school under his uniform again.

W (who has a talent for perceptive questions), while recalling a joke remembered from Big Brother a long time ago (the pea on a fork joke) suddenly said 'Why do I remember that? - it's not even relevant. I can't even remember to take my homework to school. Poor child.

Still it was lovely to take a day away from the daily grind. J was great company for the day and very gracious about the poor selection of birthday presents (guitar strings and plectrums - even the cheque from Great Aunty Joyce turned out to be for the children)... Happy Birthday J!
