beetlejuice

I found this guy yesterday. I've been looking for a dead beetle for a while (macro rings mean the insect must be dead) so I was very happy 'Look!' I shout at Jim 'a purple beetle' He looks vaguely horrified and not at all impressed by the double whammy of not only a beetle, but a purple one.

I've not progressed passed 'purpleone' on the identification.

I'm wondering if I got those screw on lenses instead of the rings maybe they would be easier to use? I ordered some from the lensbaby anyway. And I think I've see this guy far too closely and I am less enamoured of his purpleness and more generally grossed out.

Today we bought the nut his big boy duvet and he was very pleased with it although he spent a good half hour hugging it and snuggling on top of it and being very quiet but very awake. So I tucked him up and he went to sleep underneath it, properly.
