BethaBlip 41...
This is my monthly track of my children as they grow to see how they change as time goes by. I take the same photo in the same place each 1st and 15th of each month along with a wee diary of what has happened and how life has progressed for each of them. Bethany on the 1st and Ewan on the 15th. It is quite remarkable and is accentuated by the 1 year ago thumbnail down in the bottom right.
This month is the bike month. Bethany got a bike for her birthday last year and in recent months has really gotten into it. We regularly take wee rides (she rides, I walk and push Ewan on his trike) down to the library and park after dinner. We're on a 2 for 2 this week. Over the last month she's really been starting to get a lot more confident and is picking up the speed enough that I actually have to break into a wee canter to keep up with her along a straight and even. I figure that before we look at removing the stabilisers we have to sort out a few things first.
Number one, speed. I reckon it's a lot easier to balance on a bike at speed that at trundle so that's what we're sorting out just now.
Secondly, brakes. The brakes on her bike are actually really badly designed. Apart from being too stiff, the brake levers stick out too much from the handle bars and so even with her fully extended fingers, she can't get grip on them let alone decent purchase. So sometime this week or weekend I'm going to try and source and fit a more sensible break lever and system.
Any Uncle Jeepo's help would be most welcome if they find themselves with any spare time.
