The Hooded Executioner

It rained all day today so confined to the great indoors. The only blip that I could find is this Sarracenia or Hooded Executioner. As its name suggests it's a carniverous plant. If you look closer you might see the small fly trapped on the white sticky substance covering the hood of the plant. This is a sticky and slightly sweet tasting substance that attracts the plant's victims. Isn't nature wonderful?
My wife grows these but she hasn't succeeded in growing a really big one ..yet!
