Baffoon
I've just read this article.
Its about 2 train graffiti artists who have been jailed after causing nearly £13,000 damage. Now I must admit to being a little biased as I do like the idea of art in public places some of which has been illegally created on another persons property. I also hate a lot of the graffiti that is randomly tagged with little invention, originallity, saying nothing of importance and definitely nothing to do with art. And the blurred line between the 2 is open to subjective opinion.
This is all irrelevant to me in this case. These lads were clearly tagging trains because it was "anti-authority", because they thought it made them look good. And therefore they can have no come back when they get caught and punished by that authority. But come on 15 and 12 months in prison. Seriously. What does that cost the tax payers, 30 odd grand a year??? Each. Has our society got no better way to punish them? They did not commit a violent crime. They did not prey on the young, old or infirm. They did commit a crime and they should be punished but not like this.
Ahhh. Rant over.
