Long Slow Distance

Work in progress

I haven't been out much today. Working on editing the manuscript of one of my novels. It's been kicking around in my head, and in various forms on paper, notebooks, and now computer, for about fifteen years.

It's a historical fiction tale that started out as a massive family saga, but which has over the years been refined to cover just a few years, relatively speaking. I won't give too much away about the storyline suffice it to say that it is concerned with the invention of musical instruments, and specifically the saxophone.

However, the point of this blip is nothing to do with that. While looking at various chapters on screen at once, I was intrigued with the multiple layers that I could achieve by overlaying windows of the Word document then photographing the screen, which gives an almost three dimensional effect, particularly when it includes the reflection of the window on the flat of the screen itself.

Poppycock, but I rather liked it.
