Reflected Glory
This is my friend @cluckingchicken at Lords today for the England v Bangladesh test match. We came on Saturday which was probably one of the wettest cricket days I have endured, and discovered that they were selling tickets for today for only £10. Unfortunately our friends Gary and Miles who came on the Saturday were unable to return today.
We saw Jonathon Agnew ring the Bell to notify five minutes to the start of the game, and saw some great inventive batting from the Bangladesh batsmen and some pretty ordinary uninspired bowling by England.
@Cluckingchicken has a spinal injury and uses a powered wheelchair, so we get to sit on the actual hallowed turf of Lords in an enclosure in front of the Warner stand which is on the right of the Pavilion as you see it on TV. We have been going for quite a few years now and as Lords retains it staff well, we are recognised and greeted by the Stewards.
A nice picnic and some drinks helps the slower passages of play (or rain) pass by painlessly.
