This 4 second exposure, taken at 1 am, shows the moon about to emerge from behind the clouds. But it also shows that it is not fully dark. Stornoway lies just north of the 58th parallel, and it does not get fully dark here at this time of the year. Come here in December, and we only get 6 hours of daylight.
