The genius of Cesar Manrique

This picture was taken at Fundacion Cesar Manrique, his home for part of his life. It is the most beautiful, tranquil, inspiring place, set in the midst of lava fields. Parts of the house are subterranean, but the terrain is lava and the rooms are formed from lava bubbles with ceilings open to the sky. It's totally fabulous, and a touch of Austin Powers style furnishings somehow fits perfectly.
