Black-crowned Night Herons

Well Spring has finally arrived - at least for a day!

My mother-in-law is visiting so we wall took advantage of the beautiful weather - packed up the car and went to the Palo Alto Baylands Preserve to shoot some birds (after a nice lunch nearby).

Given we didn't get there till mid-day, I didn't expect to get much but I did manage a few interesting shots like this pair of Black-crowned Night Herons nesting up in a tree - but also this Stilt, this Tern, and this Snowy Egret.
