Feeling Rejected
Needs to be viewed large.
Today was cold and wet, and I was tired after all the fun I had on my GGW 2010 trip (to be back-blipped). It was just the kind of day to use a back-pocket blip.
Since we moved here in 2002, these gates had been lying on the ground most of the time, or occasionally were propped up by the person renting the house in front and to the right of their current location. About three weeks ago, before the gates were hung, I was on my way up the hill with the dogs, when I encountered a guy with an excavator preparing to dig test holes at several locations across the base of the hill. I didn't get a chance to ask him why before his boss arrived.
On my way back down I stopped to blip the activity. After I'd shot a few, the boss noticed what I was doing and came over to inform me that I was trespassing. He then asked me to delete the images from my camera. I tried to explain what I was doing and offered to show identification, but he wasn't interested and repeated his request. I asked if I would be allowed to continue walking my dogs on the property if I deleted the photos. He said I could, as long as I didn't take any photos on the property, so I complied with his request.
The posts were installed and the gates were hung about ten days ago. I'm going to assume I still have permission to go there. You probably noticed there is no fence on either side of the gateposts.
