We went to get our gas fire fixed by a man in a shed in Co Durham. As he demonstrated how it was now working, I worried for the wooden roof as the flames licked the ceiling. He was not at all worried as he appeared to put his hand through the flames. We wouldn't get such fierce flames as he had bottled gas! He had had a factory but it was too expensive. and I hope not burnt down. After I had left, I wished I had taken his photograph.

So after our success in what we hope will be a working fire again, we went to High Force waterfall for much longer walk than first planned. Here's some of the things that water can do, given enough time.
