Sherwood Forest

Despite having lived less than 16 miles from the Major Oak in Sherwood Forest for well over 9 years, and not much further away for the majority of the rest of my life, I had never, until today, visited the great tree itself. However, the weather conditions weren't the best, so although I got some nice photos of the tree where Robin Hood is supposed to have hidden from the Sheriff of Nottingham, I decided to show you this speaking tourist information point!

I went with my best friend. I'm not sure it was what he was expecting to do on his birthday, especially after having driven over 100 miles to come and see me - but I hope he enjoyed the visit, and hopefully the company.

Actually, he's more than my best friend - he's my future!
