Message in a bottle...yeah..

Managed to get a spare half hour to run round Trafalgar Square today, as I was keen to see the latest inhabitant of the infamous "fourth plinth" - which is a huge Ship in A Bottle.

It doesn't disappoint - it's really impressive and I really loved the batik effect sails - really powerful in terms of symbolism etc. It's a replica of Nelson's ship HMS Victory by the artist Yinka Shonibare

Also managed to do a fast-paced circuit of the Irving Penn exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. Absolutely wonderful stuff - worth checking it (and him) out if you can. Details here.
