Calne

This floral display is situated in the pedestrianized section of the High Street in my town, Calne. It became closed to traffic in 1968 when a new road was built to carry A4 traffic to and from Chippenham and beyond.

Although banned to cars, it does not seem to preclude cyclists, and it was almost a freak occurrence not to have pairs of bicycles haring down the pavement sections, scattering pedestrians in their wake.
