The Ong Ong, Chinatown

After a sedentary day working I took a fantastic city walk with a visiting Texan. More and more these days I'm noticing that what was originally intended as a city tour for visitors and guests has become a catalogue of architectural juxtapositions and highlights! I had no idea how excited I can get about the urban built environment! One of my particular triumphs tonight was to gain access to The Speigeltent, currently in the Village for the Pride festival. I've always wanted to see this touring venue so a bemused bouncer led me and my Texan friend inside and watched us both as our faces lit up like two children at Christmas!
I kind of like this shot of Chinatown and a restaurant that had lost two of it's neon letters to become the'Ong Ong'. I tried to get a seedy, slightly Hopper look and enjoyed messing around with the colours. It's nearly midnight so me and my street-tired feet are signing offfor the night!
