H2O Walk
On March 22, world water day, a group of students from Dominican College Wicklow did a 10K walk to replicate the walk done by millions of women and girls around the world to simply access clean water for their families.
In the process, they were sponsored to the tune of 2186 Euro, which they presented to us today.
We appreciate the huge achievement of these girls and thank them most sincerely on behalf of the two and a half thousand villagers who will now have access to clean water in their villages as a result.
Accepting the cheque on our behalf from the superstars, is Elaine Bolger (on the left), who is on placement with us from DIT, as part of her course in Business in Management, and who will return to Malawi for the sixth time in June.
Caitriona O'Connor (front right), their teacher, will return to Malawi in June also for her fourth volunteering visit. Even though she hasn't been to Malawi!!, their CSPE teacher Paula Kristiansen was totally involved in this amazing achievement.
We thank the Principal and all the staff for their support. With so much happening in a school it is wonderful that so many can take time to help out.
