Poppy fields
These wonderful poppies had taken over our garden. We loved them so much but they were spreading out of control. The only way to relocate them was to move the soil and their roots to another location.
So.......a few years ago, Bill dug them up and transported over a dozen barrowloads of soil to their new home along the edge of our driveway outside our gate where they have flourished and spread even further.
Today the first bud has burst open and we just love these poppies.
They are called Eye Catcher Oriental Poppy (Papaver orientalis) and are native to Armenia.
Thank you Armenia for such a vibrant splash of scarlet in our Five Mile World!
Only one sleep till we go!
Not sure yet whether we will blip or not during the next 14 days!
